How to read a weather map go ahead, click to find out!

•How do you “read” a weather map?

How can clouds be classified and used to predict the weather?

The L and the big H on the top map symbolizes a low pressure area or a high pressure area. The Lines with either a blue line with triangles or the red line with circles are called fronts. There is also a combined line this can either be stationary or occluded, it depends the side where the shapes are. Then there is colors that represent paths of storms or other types of weather. As you can see there is different types of weather across the country. There is not just one big storm across the entire nation. On the map on the top of the page you might see the area of a severe thunderstorm area. These can cause a tornados at any possible time. Regular thunderstorms can produce a tornado but most likely a severe thunderstorm would have a better chance at it.

WEATHER MAPS ALL AROUND YOU

Weather maps are tricky to read. on the news or the weather channel, you may be used to the meteoroligist telling you what happens but if you are using the newspaper to know the weather it , the paper, cant talk so there are special symbols.

L- means that there is a low pressure which means that there is clouds in the sky

H- means that there is a high pressure or no clouds in the sky.

Weather maps are shown in weather bradcast school pretty much every where in the world

Atlas

An atlas is a book of maps, the atlas have it to where the show where is where.

They show were things are located, this so this helps out to show wer storms are headed.
